Curry Pork Burgers With Ginger Apple Chutney

Updated: Feb 26, 2021

This burger is unlike any burger you've ever tried before. I wanted to try a unique take and I really love how this turned out. The patty is made with pork and is packed with the rich flavors of curry powder, lime juice, sesame oil, and green onions. Topped with a bright homemade chutney and pickled onions. It is absolutely delicious and I hope you give it a try and challenge your traditional expectations of a burger.

Makes 8 medium or 6 large burgers

Ingredients:

Burger patties:

  • 2 lb ground pork

  • 3 green onions sliced

  • 4 cloves of garlic minced

  • 2 Tbsp curry powder

  • 1 egg

  • 1 tsp sesame oil

  • 1 tsp lime juice

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp pepper

  • 1/4 tsp cayenne

Assembly:

Directions:

Combine all ingredients for the patties in a large bowl and mix until well incorporated. Shape into 8-6 equal balls, depending on your preferred patty size. Flatten and keep separate on a tray or between pieces of parchment paper.

Heat a cast iron skillet or a non stick skillet over medium low and add a small drizzle of oil. Cook the patties over medium low heat for about 4 minutes per side.

Toast or warm your buns. Spread a small amount of mayo on each side, add the patty and top with chutney, lettuce, and pickled onions.
