This cocktail turned out so rich and delicious! It is like a decadent chai latte with a little kick. You can usually find the white chocolate liqueur under the Godiva brand, it's pretty broadly available but you can check online before you head to the store if you want to be sure it's available.
The chai simple syrup is absolutely wonderful and comes together in a few minutes. You can use it for more than just this cocktail. Add it to some warm or steamed milk for a more traditional chai latte, or throw in a shot of espresso for some real depth.
Chai Simple Syrup:
2 cups water
1 cup sugar
6 chai tea bags
1oz white chocolate liqueur
1 Tbsp heavy cream
3oz chai simple syrup
Cinnamon for garnish
For the simple syrup, in a pot combine the water and tea bags. Bring to a simmer and then turn off the heat. Allow to steep for 5 minutes and then remove the tea bags, squeezing all of the liquid out. Return the pot to the heat and add the sugar, stir for 2-3 minutes until the sugar is completely dissolved. Let the syrup cool completely.
Add some ice to a glass and then pour in the syrup, whiskey, white chocolate liqueur and stir well. Top with the cream and the garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon.
